Setting up an Email Account

Return to MEMBERS main page

Obviously, when you sign up for web hosting, you don’t only have a web site. You also have access to your own email system, all of which will reside under your own domain name/s.

And the thing is, it is really easy to set up.

1. In cPanel go to MAIL and then click on the EMAIL ACCOUNTS icon

2. In the first text box titled EMAIL, you can see there is a place for you to type in your chosen email name, i.e. sales and after this is the @ and this is followed by a box containing all of the domain names you have in your account. Choose the domain name for which you are setting up the email.

3. Choose a password  and type it twice. The generate password box will choose a very secure password for you if you wish.

4. In the MAILBOX QUOTA type in the amount of megabytes you would like to allocate from your account for mail. This is usually somewhere around 15mb for most people.

5. Click on the CREATE button and your first email account is set up and ready to use.

Once you have done this, scroll down the page and look  for the CURRENT ACCOUNTS panel. Next to the email you have just created,  click on CONFIGURE MAIL CLIENT and this will open a new page.  On this page, you will need the information that looks like the details below, to set up your email client.
